An Artisan Journey Rooted in Suffolk

Willys Timber is an artisan producer of old fashioned Footpath signs, House signs, and bespoke chopping charcuterie boards, crafted primarily from English Oak, Sweet Chestnut, and Elm. All our timber is cut and sourced from our own small woodland in Suffolk, where it is stored for several years to air dry (nice and environmentally friendly), creating stable timber designed to stand the test of time.

We balance English heritage materials with modern precision. Every project is programmed using the latest Vetric software and machined with modern CNC routers before being hand-finished. We use the Osmo range of treatments for our signs and food-safe beeswax for our chopping/charcuterie boards, bringing out the unique character and grain in the wood used.

The Process- from log to useable timber

Here we can see the logs being milled by portable bandmills which come to the woodland for a couple of days milling. Very large logs need to be halved and quartered.
